Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras
Regarded internationally as one of the world's biggest and best LGBTQI marches and festivals, and described as an "absolute once-in-a-lifetime must for every travelling gay man". Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is not to be missed.
Starting February 15 with major events including Fair Day on February 17, Luna Park Family Day on February 24 and ending with the Parade and After Party on March 2.
This years theme is Fearless.
"Fearless does not mean we have no fear - everyone experiences fear, it's a part of who we are. Fearless means living our lives in a courageous way, taking action despite our fears."

Billed as one of the must do events, Fair Day is held Sunday 17 February at Victoria Park from 10am to 9pm.
Mardi Gras Film Festival Queer Screens:
Queer Screens is delivering a huge 26th Mari Gras Film Festival with 120 queer films from all corners of the globe. Highlights include the hotly anticipated Sauvage, a powerful portrait of a gay hustler on the streets of France.
Luna Park Family Fun Day:
The day is about turning Luna Park into a rainbow celebrating queer families and their allies. Staged at Luna Park on Sunday 26 February from 11am - 4 pm.
Billed as Australia's biggest Vogue Ball, Sissy Ball returns to shine a spotlight on our growing vogue scene. Based off NYC's iconic vogue ballroom scene, Sissy Ball brings you live music, DJ's, performing artists and a runway where entrants will take centre stage battling for Sissy Ball titles in dance, movement, fashion and flair. Sissy Ball is on Saturday 23 February at the Carriageworks.
Nothing says Mardi Gars more than the Pool Party.... Held on Monday the 25 February at the ivy pool club, its the epitome of Sydney's sexy summertime madness.
In it's four decade, the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade brings Sydney to a stand still and shines a global spotlight on the lives, culture, and creativity of the LGBTQI community. Expect colour, expect a lot of bare flesh, expect plenty of glitter and expect a huge crowd lining Oxford Street from mid afternoon to secure themselves a good spot.
Once the parade is done, its time too party. The Mardi Gras party is Australia biggest LGBTQI event and attracts over 12,000 party goers. This years specially themed fantasy worlds include: The Nean Playground, Black Palace and the Powder Puff.

Bear Essentials 23 Homo Bearectus:
Harbour City Bears yearly festival for the hairier and larger guys in the community. This years theme is pre-historic so expect cave-man themed nights, with highlights including Underbear, Wet Fur (personal favourite) and Bear Pit!
